Atlantis receives 4th Innovation Pathway designation Atlantis received its fourth Innovation Pathway (IP) designation from the Commonwealth of Massachusetts. The Department of Elementary and Secondary Education (DESE) recently approved Atlantis’s application for an Information IP designation for the Arts, Culture and Design Academy. To satisfy DESE’s requirements for an Information IP designation, the Arts, Culture, and Design Academy placed a new emphasis on product design, offering a personalized introduction to the integrated product design process which is based in part off MIT’s Integrated Design Management (IDM) program. ACS Awarded $10,000 Grant from BCSB

  Every student at Atlantis got a new Chromebook to aid in remote learning Atlantis Charter School received a $10,000 grant from Bristol County Savings Bank to cover some expenses brought on by the pandemic. 2020 5D Leadership Awards

Atlantis recently honored the recipients of the 2020 Atlantis Charter School 5D Leadership Awards. Created in 2013, the awards honor five members of the school community – staff and board members - who display at least one of the following leadership traits: dedication, determination, discipline, drive and desire. “We see value in growing leaders from within the organization,” said Mike Lauro, associate executive director of Atlantis. “The 5D Awards are a way for us to recognize prospective leaders and help them grow and develop new skills. New Career Academy Director

Robert Perry has joined the team at Atlantis Charter School as the new Career Academy Director. Robert brings a great deal of experience in college and career access.  Early in his career, he worked for the College Crusade of Rhode Island, a non-profit college access program. He worked closely with guidance counselors at the Providence schools to help students apply to college and prepare for the SATs. Innovation Pathways Grant

Atlantis received an Innovation Pathways (IP) Planning Grant of $25,000 from the Massachusetts Department of Elementary and Secondary Education (DESE) for the Arts, Culture and Design Academy. Atlantis is in the process of applying for an Information IP designation for the academy. If approved, this will be Atlantis’s fourth IP designation. It received the first three in Spring 2019 for Manufacturing, Business & Finance, and Healthcare and Social Assistance which are integrated into the STEM, Business and Entrepreneurship, and Health, Med-Tech and Sports Medicine Academies, respectively. Field of Dreams Nears Completion

Atlantis’s Field of Dreams is taking shape. Work on the new field is nearly complete. The sod is down, the fence and dugouts are going up, and a well will soon be dug to irrigate the natural Kentucky Blue Grass with water from South Watuppa Pond. Remote Learning Technology Grants

Atlantis Charter School Receives $71,000 Technology Grant from Baker-Polito Administration Atlantis Charter School recently received a technology grant totaling $71,401 from the Commonwealth of Massachusetts to reimburse expenditures from the recent purchase of 1,400 new Chromebook laptops and tablets. Atlantis is among 253 school districts across the state that received $32.9 million in in Remote Learning Technology Essentials grants from the Baker-Polito Administration. “We thank Governor Baker and Lt.
