Shawn Kalunga Named All-Scholastic Player of the Year
A New Tradition Begins at Atlantis Charter School
Atlantis Charter School is proud to celebrate a historic achievement in our athletic program! Senior soccer standout Shawn Kalunga has been named the All-Scholastic Player of the Year by the Fall River Herald, recognizing his outstanding performance on the field and dedication to excellence. This prestigious honor not only highlights Shawn’s incredible talent but also sets a new standard for future Atlantis athletes.
To commemorate this milestone, Atlantis Charter School has proudly presented Shawn with a special All-Scholastic Player of the Year banner, which will be hung in the gymnasium. This marks the beginning of a new tradition at our school—honoring athletes who achieve this level of recognition with a lasting tribute in our gym. Shawn’s name will forever be etched in our school’s athletic history as the first to receive this designation, paving the way for future student-athletes to aspire toward similar greatness.
Shawn’s dedication to soccer has been nothing short of inspiring. Boys Basketball Team Makes Playoffs for Third Straight Season!
The Atlantis Charter School boys basketball team has once again secured a spot in the playoffs, marking their third consecutive postseason appearance! With a strong record of 9-8, the team has demonstrated resilience, teamwork, and dedication throughout the season.
This achievement is a testament to the hard work of the players and coaching staff, who have continuously pushed themselves to improve and compete at a high level. Each game has showcased their determination and commitment to representing Atlantis Charter with pride.

Spring Sports Registration Open!
Looking ahead to the winter season? It’s time to register for Spring Sports! If you’re in grades 7-12 and interested in participating, be sure to sign up at www.arbitersports.com. Additionally, students must check with the school nurse to ensure their physical is up to date. Remember, No Physical = No Play.
Here are the Spring Sports available at ACS:
- Varsity Baseball- Tryouts begin on March 18th, 2025
- Varsity Softball- Tryouts begin on March 18th, 2025
- Varsity Boys/Girls Outdoor Track and Field- Tryouts begin on March 18th, 2025
- Intramural Flag Football- Tryouts begin on March 31tst, 2025
- Intramural Basketball- Tryouts begin on April 1st, 2025
Any 6th-8th grader interested in Spring Intramural Flag Football or Intramural Basketball must also be fully registered, and have an updated physical on files with the school nurse.
