Golfers teed off and chipped in, raising more than $12,000 for Atlantis Charter School during the 17thannual Chip in for Education Golf Tournament.

The fundraiser was held on Monday, June 11 at the Fall River Country Club.

“It was a perfect day for golf,” said Robert Beatty, executive director of Atlantis. “We saw many familiar faces in the crowd, but there were a number of golfers participating in the tournament for the first time. Everyone was happy to participate in a charity event that benefits students in the Fall River area.”

70 golfers hit the links this year. The golfers are primarily long-term donors and community and business leaders.

“I think our donors see the direct impact they are having on kids in Fall River,” Beatty said. “Their support is critical to the success of our mission to provide each student at Atlantis with an education second-to-none.”

As a public charter school, Atlantis does not receive all of the subsidies and other funding available to traditional public schools. The money raised from the golf tournament goes directly to resources and programming for students, including the development of the high school’s innovative career academies.

An awards presentation and a dinner followed the tournament.
