Current research shows that school children who eat a healthy breakfast and lunch perform much better in school.  With this in mind, Atlantis Charter School offers all students the opportunity to purchase a healthy breakfast and/or lunch each day.

Atlantis continuously works to provide affordable meal prices to its students. Unfortunately, due to higher food costs, there will be a modest increase in the price charged for breakfast ($1.50) and lunch ($2.60 Lower School and $2.75 Upper School) for the 2008-09 school year.

Until this year, school lunches provided the same portion to all students. In response to a student survey and to parent requests, the lunch portions for the Upper School students (Grades 5-8) will be larger this year. Accordingly, the price for Upper School lunches will also be slightly higher ($2.75).

Please note that there has been no change in price for families who qualify for free or reduced price meals.

The cost for full-price meals in 2008-09 are as follows:

Breakfast is $1.50 (full price)

Lunch price is $2.60 (full price) for children in Grades K thru 4

Lunch price is $2.75 (full price) for students in Grades 5 thru 8

Children who qualify for reduced price meals will pay $.30 for breakfast and $.40 for lunch.

Atlantis strongly encourages every family to take a few minutes to complete and submit the Free and Reduced Price Application included in your Summer Information Packet. This is especially important for those families who are not certain if their income total will qualify their children for the program. Please be sure to complete all required sections and provide all other necessary information. Please note that submitting an incomplete application will make it impossible to provide you with a determination of your status.

Should you have any questions on how to complete the Free and Reduced Price Application or any other issue related to our food services program, please call Brenda Reback, Atlantis Charter School Food Services Coordinator, at 508-672-1821, extension 13.
